The supply of face masks was limited at my workplace, plus the one-size-fits-most adult size fits poorly on my smaller face, so I decided to try my hand at patterning and sewing my own fabric masks. The spring/summer conventions I’d planned to attend this year have been canceled, so I had no other looming projects on my plate anyways.
A homemade fabric mask does not replace a commercial mask. It may be better than nothing only when it is treated like a regular surgical mask (wash hands before putting on, no touching while wearing, one-time wear only & wash).
