Fate/Zero 3rd Ending Theme – Manten

The Whole Sky
Vocals: Kalafina
Lyrics: Kajiura Yuki
Composition: Kajiura Yuki
Arrangement: Kajiura Yuki

The stars that twinkle quietly
are scattered in the sky
Prayers that never reach it
filled the heavens and earth

What shines on the delicate branch
is the future that forgot to bloom
While still regretful about it, it shed its buds

Because, look, time is already up
and the golden fruit is ripe
Just by picking it with your hands
The world will end

The whiteness of the snow falling as something that can’t be tainted
will vanish once it learns of warmth
A beautiful dream was the only thing that tore you apart
Kindness and the truth are there in your cold eyes

Until the madly twinkling stars turn against the heavens
and the vengeful prayers
bring down this sky–

I don’t need a bouquet of flowers
to mourn me
Just grant my wish while my heart isn’t crushed

I want to see for myself
the moment when people’s wishes
are filled with brilliant light

Everyone cried for wings
Life plays
the chorus filling the whole sky

When my charred wish
pries open the sky
My missed hometown
will surely be blooming with flowers, right?

The traces of a dream of the madly twinkling stars–

People say peace exists
until the very end
So may the moonlight shine tenderly
and tell me the way to get there

The stars twinkle quietly
in the sky of prayers
Until my dream ends
with your cry

  1. You might want to take a closer look at that second-to-last verse, I think it’s not that “a moon shines tenderly in the place where the peace is” (seems like a stretch, since half of that sentence isn’t there), I think he’s asking the moonlight “Moonlight, show me tenderly the way to go”. Because unless it’s some weird Japanese mental shortcut, it’s lacking the “shine” verb, and “yasashiku oshiete” would certainly work together 🙂
(Also I don’t know if it’s “Show me the way until the very end” or “until the very end, people say that peace exists”, something to think about :P)

Also, on the second verse I don’t think it “seems to regret losing it’s bud”, I think it’s “While still appearing regretful, it dropped/lost it’s bud” (it might have been because it didn’t know the bud could still bloom, and was regretful that nothing blossomed)

The first verse seems a little roundabout, and I would’ve done it a little differently, but whatever. Just my opinion ^_^’

Then again, my Japanese isn’t that good yet, so I might be mistaken.
