Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto Opening Theme – Kouya Ruten

The Flux of Wilderness
Vocals: FictionJunction YUUKA
Lyrics: Kajiura Yuki
Composition: Kajiura Yuki
Arrangement: Kajiura Yuki

I tumble and push through
The earth freezing in the moonlight
The era of destruction and resurrection begins

Hefting a heavy freedom
Choosing a pathless path
Crossing sunsets brighter than midday

As if narrating a dream, the boat of time sails
Across the dark road, there’s a new dawn

We were certainly born from the arms of darkness
As if falling in unrequited love
We’re wandering toward the light
We don’t have a way to return
On this eternally endless path

We’re confused about surviving
Scared that we’re going to die
And sorrow dwells in our breathing

My shout fades into loneliness
And I sniffle up my teardrops
Everyone roams through the wilderness all alone

Is that the moon’s dream? Flowers shine white
At the yonder of the hazy hill, a brilliance beckons

Listening closely to the perpetual music echoing in my chest
Even if I disappear in an instant
Like sand lost in the wind
I’ll still go down this eternally endless path
To the other side of the wilderness

Is that the moon’s dream?

We were certainly born from the arms of darkness
As if falling in unrequited love
We’re lured toward the light
We don’t have a way to return
On this eternally endless path
Toward the yonder…

FictionJunction YUUKA

  1. Awesome, thanks!

  2. I think “kaina” here is an old reading of 腕. You can find it in online Japanese dictionaries (not wwwjdc but say goo.ne.jp) and it converts in the IME.

  3. I was considering the 腕 definition of かいな, but I didn’t find it in Japanese-English dictionaries, so I went with something else instead… Okay, I think I’ll change the translation for now and re-update it when the official lyrics come out.

    Thanks!

  4. Thanks for being this fast! You’re the best 🙂

  5. Thank you so much for translating this lovely and meaningful song!
