I saw this Spice and Wolf Holo puppet pop up for preorder a few months ago. Yes, you can move the tail. Yes, you can stick your hand up its dress and put on your own furry puppet show. Nevertheless, not sure if want. The face scares me. The fact that it comes with detachable/interchangeable eye pieces doesn’t help. The creepiness fades a little after staring at the product images for a while, but otherwise the only saving grace puppet Holo has is the potential that a Lawrence puppet may be released in the future.

Nyoro~n Churuya-san Megas Limited Edition with Nendoroid Petit Churuya-san

- Upgrading the blurb in my last post, the limited edition of the Churuya-san manga will come with a Nendoroid Petit Churuya-san by Goodsmile Company. Also in the limited edition bundle are special full-color cover for the manga and an illustrated booklet from the artist behind Churuya-san. The manga will be released on September 10th, 2009, for 1,890 yen.
- I’ve liked the Churuya-san 4-komas since the first time I saw them, and Churuya-san is a character in its own right. I think I’ll probably pick up the manga, though it’s quite pricey even with a Nendoroid figurine…

- A box set of Code Geass R2 decomas (decoration mascot) are to go on sale in late March 2009 for 3,780 per box of twelve. The 3D stickers will be about an inch tall.
- You know what I’m going to do? Buy two of the Rolo’s cellphone charm stickers and stick them together back-to-back with a metal loop. I can’t let a chance at pretending to have the Rolo locket escape.

Prop Plus Petit Fullmetal Alchemist

- Surely amongst the first of literally hundreds of Fullmetal Alchemist merchandise to come for the new anime season in April, preorder for Prop Plus Petit Fullmetal Alchemist mini-figurine set has opened. Like other PPP sets, a box will feature nine variations (Edward, Alphonse, Winry, Mustang, Hawkeye, Hughes) and retail for 4,725 yen, or 473 yen individually as blind boxes. Each mini-figurine is about 1.5 inches tall and comes with a small keychain trinket (hence ‘prop plus’) The set will be released in late May 2009, probably on or around May 25th.
- Fullmetal Alchemist was one of the few shows that I watched pre-bittorent era and steadily followed, so I’m looking forward to the new season and, by connection, all of the merchandise to come. You will probably see a lot of future Merchandise Tidbits posts featuring Fullmetal Alchemist stuff, since my current fixation, Kuroshitsuji, will be over by April. Anyhow, I have the Fullmetal Alchemist PPP set on preorder— I’ll be keeping two figurines out of the set and selling off the rest. I was kind of hoping that the set will feature some new character as a spoiler for the new series, but I guess not.

- Preorders have opened for a lacy Kuroshitsuji cushion with the Phantomhive crest silk-screen printed on sateen. The cushion measures about 250mm by 250mm and is set to be released on February 19th, 2009. The show’s title is printed on the small bow on the corner. The cushion will cost 1,575 yen.
- That’s quite adorable, though I’m not sure what I can do with a cushion that small.

Ouran High School Host Club DS

- A Nintendo DS port of the Ouran PS2 game, titled Ouran High School Host Club DS, is to be released on March 19th, 2009. It appears to be the same as the PS2 game, with the addition of individual scenarios (storylines) for each Host Club member, more CGs, and a fully voiced cast (the PS2 version only featured a voiced main cast). The player takes on the role of Fujioka Haruhi as she performs the duty of a Host to pay off her debt while getting to know the members of the Host Club better, as as well as interacting with other characters from the school. The game’s website is here. The normal edition of the game will be 5,040 yen while the limited edition will be 7,140 yen. The limited edition comes with a different game packaging, trading cards, and a premium CD loaded with cast interviews and desktop accessories.

- The ever-adorable chara fortune makeover has made its way into Gurren Lagann. There will be 12 variations of the 25mm (inch-tall) keychain figurine renditions of Gurren Lagann characters, to be sold in box sets of 24 for 8,064 yen, or 336 yen each. The Gurren Lagann Fortunes are scheduled to be released in late April 2009.
- I admit that I’ve been a fan of the chara fortunes ever since getting one of Euphemia-sama from Code Geass. While I’ve never watched Gurren Lagann, the Nia fortune is too cute to pass up.

Nendoroid Ciel Phantomhive?

- In the January issue of GFantasy, there was a short blurb about the upcoming Nendoroid Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji. When asked to divulge just one secret for the readers, Kaneko (one of the people who worked on the Nendo Sebastian) replied, “Classified information? There’s too much, so it’s tough to give just one…but I guess a butler needs a master to serve after all.”
- I take it that means Kaneko was hinting at a possible Nendoroid Ciel Phantomhive in the future? Take a look at that insert picture next to the question. It’s a line-art of Nendoroid Ciel. Or maybe it meant that people should buy Nendoroid Sebastian and give him a good home or something like that. GSC is expected to make announcements for upcoming figurines at Comiket 75 (Dec. 28th through 30th), so we will see then.

- Recently unveiled in the January 2009 issue of Animedia, a Nendoroid rendition of Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji is scheduled to go on sale in summer 2009. It will measure roughly 10cm tall. The price is currently undecided.
- I nearly hyperventilated upon the sight of the Nendo Sebastian. Oh, that is definitely going to be a part of my collection. However, I haven’t been a big fan of Nendoroids… I don’t own one yet, besides my Kyon/Itsuki/Minoru Nendoroid Petits. My educated guess is that Nendo Sebastian will be 3,500 yen.

ACOS Mihoshi Academy High School Department Uniform (Alto)

- ACOS has opened preorders for their costume of the boys’ school uniform from Macross Frontier. The set comes with a shirt, tank top, pants, necktie, and hair tie. It will retail for 7,140 yen and be released sometime later this month.
- I’m glad to see that ACOS threw in a tank top and the hair tie for the costume set; I thought that 7,140 would be a little hefty for just a shirt, necktie, and pair of pants. I think this means that Ranka and Sheryl’s costumes aren’t too far behind and are bound to show up in the coming weeks.
