Macross Frontier Sheryl’s Earring

- Preorder has opened for the official replica of Sheryl’s earring from Macross Frontier. It measures about 80mm long and it is made of artisan glass and nickel with silver plating. The earring is scheduled to be released in late November and is set to sell in singles, not pairs. One earring will cost 3,150 yen.
- After seeing a whole ton of badly fan-made Sheryl earrings on eBay and Y! Auction, finally the real thing comes out. It’s gorgeous, but the price tag is a bit too steep for me. I might get it if I ever manage to sell off other goods that I don’t need… From the looks of it, the earring is only available through Movic. I’m going to keep checking with Animate and see if they’ll carry it, too.

Merchandise Tidbits – October 23rd, 2008
October 23, 2008 at 3:46 am | In CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion, CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, Cosplay, Macross Frontier, Tidbits, Vocaloid | 1 CommentI find myself discovering new merchandise every week and sometimes so much that I lose track of what to keep in mind and what to get. Hence I’ve started a running list in the sidebar of this blog, but I find too many things to keep straight there, so I’m going to try something new on this site. I’ll make a weekly post about various new things that I find to both remind myself and be of some mini-notification source for other people. The merchandise news will be biased toward cute things and cosplay goods.
Yes, you may ask me for more information and/or help on obtaining stuff.
Anyhow, merchandise finds for the week ending on October 23rd, 2008:
Ranka’s Giant Salamander Phone Plush Doll

- First sold at the Macross Frontier Galaxy Tour event last week, a plush replica of Ranka’s iSlug giant salamander cellphone will be available for sale from Bandai. It measures about 18.5cm long and 8cm thick and will retail for 1,260 yen. The order page is here and it will be released in early December. At this point, I’m not sure if other stores, such as Animate, will carry the item.
- As a massive sucker for cute things and cosplay goods (you’ll hear me mention this again and again), I immediately decided that I must get one of the Ranka cellphone plush dolls. Man, all this time, I thought Ranka’s cellphone was based off of a frog.
Code Geass R2 Scan from Newtype November 2008
October 11, 2008 at 2:17 am | In CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 | 9 CommentsThe Code Geass spread from the November 2008 issue of Newtype caught my eye, specifically this one:
Link to scan on Moe Imouto, credits to the user. I’ll try to get my own scan up sometime soon.
The text reads:
September 28th, ‘08. The story of “Code Geass”, spanning roughly two years—Lelouch’s rebellion met its finale.
Lelouch, who plotted rebellion against his first love, friends, father, mother, and God, offered his own life to become a tyrant emperor.
The mask of Zero that Lelouch wore was succeeded by his one and only friend, Suzaku, for him to become the world’s savior.
His father yearned for the “past”, his brother insisted on “today”. However, Lelouch wished for “tomorrow”.
Believing in not the past or today, but the “tomorrow” that has yet to be seen.
Now that everything is over, has Lelouch fallen into deep slumber? In eternal rest that the ageless and immortal witch watches over.
From the present to the future. From an instant to perpetuity. Will the story be passed down?
The Resting Place of the Rebellion
Requiem
The tyrant emperor Lelouch gained F.L.E.I.J.A. and ruled the world. When the hatred and anger all over the world were focused on him, he played his final hand. It was the Zero Requiem. In a parade, just like a year ago, Zero, the masked man, appeared in front of the masses. Then he thrust a sword through Lelouch. The tyrant emperor fell and Zero became a hero again. Those who knew Lelouch and Zero’s thoughts shed tears and those who were ignorant cheered. The world is aiming for tomorrow. That was Lelouch’s final wish.
Yep, rest in peace, Lelouch-kun…
CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 Insert Song – Continued Story

I wouldn’t interpret the song to mean that Lelouch is alive. This is the song for the grand finale of the series and of course they’d want to put in a positive song of hope as opposed to like, a funeral dirge. Like Boku wa, Tori ni Naru., it doesn’t even mention death but points toward a better future ahead, that there are still meaningful things left to be accomplished in the world for those who continue to live. I’d say the song is written from C.C.’s perspective, that encountering Lelouch made a huge impact on her immortal life and made her feel some sense of acceptance and hope for tomorrow.
Edit: You guys are nuts for the song. I think it made a new record on this site for the most visits within a day: 1,116 views, shattering the old record of 500 or so. Geez.
I personally don’t think Continued Story is the best song by Hitomi coming out of Code Geass. Stories and Boku wa, Tori ni Naru. sound far more dramatic and haunting to me. Sensibility might have ranked higher on my chart if it actually debuted in the anime.
My ranking of all Hitomi insert songs for Code Geass, from favorite to least favorite:
- Stories
- Boku wa, Tori ni Naru.
- Innocent Days
- Continued Story
- Sensibility
- Lullaby of M
- Masquerade
- Alone

Even just with that single droplet
I just might be able to protect the flower
It’s your smiling face, and with that alone
I can even reach out my hands
If you gather up those trembling voices
You just might be able to start a wind
Light the fleeting glow known as your life
And move your feet forward

Code Geass R2 Episode 25
September 28, 2008 at 4:39 am | In Anime Review, CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 | 33 Comments
People, there’s no debate. Lelouch is 100% DEAD. It has been confirmed over and over again in magazines and the R2 Complete Guidebook.
Quick thoughts off the top of my mind:
-I wonder if it’s like the Marianne deal, if C.C. can talk to people she contracted with and consequently died.
-Is Lelouch floating around C’s World, too, now?
-Totally called it when I saw Lelouch make Schneizel obey “Zero” instead of “me/Lelouch”. It was really obvious that Lelouch will not be Zero anymore.
-God, what ever happened to revealing C.C.’s real name. And her wish to die.
-I bet $50 that someone will pull off a cosplay of Nunnally’s new red-and-black number in a week.
My take is that Lelouch is 100% dead, with a remote possibility of swimming around C’s World but no more than that. I don’t believe he achieved immortality since his long death scene was fitting for someone never to return again. He did not get Charle’s Code. If he did, wouldn’t have been able to use the Geass anymore. Taniguchi is finished with the series anyways and that’s the way he wrote it. If Lelouch is to be alive, then a season 3 or future spin-off would be imminent, which obviously aren’t. C.C. was talking to herself at the end of the episode, not to the cart driver, etc.
I cannot foresee a Code Geass R3 coming out anytime soon, but by the decision of keeping C.C. alive, I will take a gamble and say that it is a possibility they will do a new Code Geass series a few years from now. It’ll probably be set in approximately 50 years into the future from the R2 timeline, about the world falling into strife again and C.C. contracting with another person who takes up the mask of Zero. Suzaku can’t keep spin kicking into his 70’s.

And so, Lelouch wishes for a world of EQUALity, even though he is a hypocrite
(he drinks tea with Splenda)
I’ve overworked myself on making a Lelouch costume and fallen ill for the last two days. This is horrible, considering that it takes nothing short of an ER visit for my professors to acknowledge my inability to do work and give me extensions on work. I’ll never pull an all-nighter again just for a costume. Otherwise, the Lelouch costume looks very spiffy now without the sleeves sewn on. It’s almost like gangster Lelouch.
