Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru Game Opening Theme – Occultics no Majo
November 26, 2009 at 11:31 pm | In Game, Lyrics - English, Lyrics - Japanese, Lyrics - Romaji, Umineko no Naku Koro ni | 9 CommentsIs there an Italian word that sounds like オーブ (oobu), perhaps meaning something like ‘eyes’? If not, I’m tempted to say it’s supposed to be the English word ‘orb’.
The word イルミナート (iruminaato) appears in the chorus. Is it supposed to be the Italian word ‘illuminato’?
And I’m still not sure if オカルティクス (okarutikusu) is supposed to be ‘occultics’. If anyone knows anything about this part, let me know, too.
The Witch of Occultics
Vocals: Ayumu
Lyrics: Shikura Chiyomaru
Composition: Shikura Chiyomaru
Arrangement: Ueno Koji
Scattered in this world are orbs, those who your senses are blind to
Incorporeal observers complete the omniscience
The pendulum that swings back and forth has a slightly impure motive
The fruit of the Tree of Life fell onto the soil
Like magic, with the tip of a brush drawing circles, if you fulfill
This unnatural and insane ceremony, then you’ll deny the entire world
Illuminato, it’s exactly as if “it” sees through everything
Ridiculing you with an insolent power and brimming with bliss
Illuminato, with a disturbing depiction, enough so to “flaunt” itself
The omniscient power is overthrown and it peels and falls off
Into a [contrived miracle]————
In the closed secret society, a rite of passage was born there
The coveted witch is a rational taboo of illusion
The pale horses race, forgiving the pseudepigrapha
In the elegant wind, there’s the dance of the greater butterflies
Like magic, with a wave of the tip of the wand, if the dizzying abnormalities
That resembled nightmares control you, then you’ll deny the entire future
Illuminato, when you revered “it” as an occult in the past
It enveloped you with an immense love and produced a gospel
Illuminato, if a “miracle” that you can’t see is inconvenient
Then very few keys are guiding us
To the [theory of everything]————
Illuminato, it’s exactly as if “it” sees through everything
Ridiculing you with an insolent power and brimming with bliss
Illuminato, with a disturbing depiction, enough so to “flaunt” itself
The omniscient power is overthown and it peels and falls off
Into a [contrived miracle]————
To the [miracle that becomes zero]————

歌:Ayumu

Well I immediately think it might be something more like: Occultist or Occultism.
1. The study of the supernatural.
2. A belief in occult powers and the possibility of bringing them under human control.
Using those definitions as a basis and reading the lyrics I would think that it does makes sense. That’s just me. I didn’t see anything like “オカルティクス” in any of my dictionaries.

That’s because it’s in kata. Kata are used mainly for loan words. You won’t find it in any Jp – Eng dictionaries. That being said, “Occultist” seems to be the best.

The ep 5 teasers are working quite well. Making it hard to wait for Comiket to occur, especially the screenshots that were released.
And not knowing enough about how ist or ism are done in katakana, I won’t speculate on that, but it does seem like ocultics at first glance. Wouldn’t be the first time songs have used words that don’t actually exist. I think if they wanted occult or occultism though, they would have used オカルト instead of オカルティクス

When does the cd come out, I can’t seem to find a release date?

Humm.. Isn’t it Miracle instead of Hope at the last line? (Just wondering) Thank you so much for your translation!

Thanks for pointing it out. It has been corrected now.
Apparently WordPress saved an older draft of the post. Some characters were even truncated from the end of the lyrics.

Hi there. I’m Italian, so: “oobu” doesn’t sound like Italian at all (I do think it’s “orb”); I can confirm you that “iruminaato” is the Italian word “illuminato”, meaning “enlightened”.
