Kanon Tsukimiya Ayu Cosplay [Ghetto]
March 5, 2009 at 9:36 pm | In Cosplay, Kanon | 7 CommentsKey made Ayu 154cm tall, 41kg, and 80cm/52cm/79cm, so here I go again, unable to defy cosplaying a character who shares my physique.

This costume is 30% done, hence [Ghetto]. The only parts that I have that I consider to officially be a part of the costume are the winged backpack, knit sweater, and argyle socks. Everything else was stuff from my regular wardrobe that happened to somewhat resemble the cosplay and simply thrown on for the photos. I don’t plan on ever completing the cosplay.

Running around the -10C snow this time wasn’t as bad as my previous Kanon cosplay attempt, since I had a duffle coat and sweater on, but the lower half of my body was still merely clad in shorts and knee-high socks, so I had to go back indoors after about 15 minutes. Plus, snow managed to get into the boots after I tried to romp around in the snow like Ayu.

I had a proper Ayu hairband at one point, but I left it behind on an airplane…and of course, per terminal rules, I wasn’t allowed back on the plane after I walked out of it. So now I’m stuck with using a sparkly dark red one. I hope the local Claire’s is still in business; that’s where I bought my Ayu hairband from and I need a second one now.
Ayu is surprisingly a mostly ghetto cosplay under that duffle coat…

DO NAYUKI I LOVE YOU LONG TIME

@ Ielangir:
Oh man, as much as I love Nayuki (she is my top ranked heroine in Kanon, or #3 if all other characters are counted), I can’t do it. I don’t have the body for Nayuki. She is a healthy girl at 164cm (5′5″). I may attempt to do scenic or partial body photos or something that conceals my smaller size, but that’s about it.

I can’t tell that you’re 154cm though. Myabe it’s just my eyes.

Nice cosplay ^_^. I wonder, when you are outside from Japan and you order a school uniform for fun, how do they deside which school emblem the uniform will have ? XD

@ Gloomy:
Perhaps it’s the camera angle or photo composition? I’m really short if you see me next to my friends… XD
@ george1234:
Most schools have uniforms that can only be ordered through the school if you are a student. The generic ones that you can buy from a store naturally have generic school crests or no identifying feature at all.

Awesome. It’s nice to see some genuinely good cosplay for a change, especially one that doesn’t originate from Comiket. That said, I suppose you discovered first hand how resistant to cold the Kanon cast is…
