CLANNAD Furukawa Nagisa Cosplay [UPDATED II]

Final update. I swear. No more Nagisa cosplaying from me, unless I get an Ushio-chan to pose with me.

…I just realized that those ahoge on my head did not move at all between the two photos. That’s creepy. They are only hairsprayed into place and bounce around in real life.
I blew the exposure, saturation, and contrast on this photo just to see how it’d turn out. Ghastly indeed.

I’ve been working on and off on a cosplay of Furukawa Nagisa from CLANNAD for the last several months, mainly because A) It’s a KyoAni production and B) I share very similar stats with Nagisa. I think I started getting the pieces together last fall, then went through weeks of delays due to lack of motivation and/or parts. I finally finished most of the cosplay last weekend. The only missing pieces are the hair barrettes, which I did purchase, but in hindsight, I should’ve known that they wouldn’t clip into the wig mesh. I’ll try to figure out a better alternative by ConBust 2009.
I love school uniforms. Nearly all of my cosplays have been of school uniforms so far, since they tend to be slightly easier to make and usable for daily life. You know that I’ll be wearing the Clannad school uniform a lot in the coming months, until I make my next costume and honorably retire the Clannad uniform.
I might put up a new who-to-cosplay-next poll after the Spring season anime shows start. Currently I’m thinking of cosplaying someone from the new Fullmetal Alchemist series or doing an epic Sakura & Shaoran cosplay with my brother next.

Nice cosplay outfit.
And it lack most of that odd effect that a lot of outfits have that make them look like they do not belong on people, (and I wonder why so many have that), May be because your inside but still.

Perhaps it’s because most people make the uniform to the game version, where it is about four sizes too big on the girls and drape like pajamas. I made mine extremely form-fitting like in the anime and redid the back seams over and over again until I got a perfect fit.

I doubt I’ll ever find an Ushio-chan since normal people can’t quite possibly pull off looking like a 5-year-old, unless I can actually get a kindergarten kid to cosplay with me.
