A Few Modifications
January 27, 2009 at 4:37 pm | In Announcement | 3 CommentsI’ve updated my profile under the Contact Me tab near the top of the page.
I’m no longer taking requests for Coupled Songs. The category for it has been removed.
The Categories menu on the right has been steadily growing longer with new anime or game titles added every month, resulting in a menu that is longer than the actual page for many lyrics posts. I’ve tried to remedy the visual imbalance by increasing the number of posts shown per page (from originally 7 to 10 now) and combining a few categories for certain anime (i.e. all posts filed under CLANNAD and CLANNAD ~AFTER STORY~ are now just CLANNAD; the After Story category has been deleted), but the solution is only temporary.
The best way to solve the problem, I think, is to move the site onto a server so that I can modify the style sheets for the site directly, but I barely know anything about how to move onto a new server (perhaps reviving my old AnimeBlogger account?), keep the WordPress engine behind it updated, and redirect links going to this site to my new site.
The few changes that I want to do to this site’s format are really simple:
1) Widen the columns by about 100 to 200px
2) Decrease the font size of posts by 1pt
3) Add a third column for the Categories menu alone
If anyone knows how to implement those changes directly on this site, please do tell.

If I remember correctly… there wasn’t an option to show the Categories in a roll-over menu (or however it’s called) in the widgets section? You can also implement a JavaScrip to make rollover/expandable menu-things (like THAT Animeblog), and then create root categories by alphabetical order or something like that… but I don’t think Worpress will let you to do that =S I may not be of much help, but I think those are other options =S
Cheers

You cannot edit the CSS without paying, so reviving the AnimeBlogger account or getting your own host (I know of a few who are offering free hosting) would be the best way. You are then free to do whatever you want to your theme, download plugins to help you manage your categories, and stuff like that.

Ok I’ve look a little and at the three things and its seems a little hard to get it without pay the $0.04 per day ($14.24) per year for being able to edit the css. with this done there will be no problem in completing the first two tasks you mention
1) Widen the columns by about 100 to 200px
2) Decrease the font size of posts by 1pt
but the third will be a little hard especially for this theme because it don’t have a third column to be edit by css. you should change the theme with some that have 3 columns by default and then edit the css as you like.
but ofcourse this cost $15 per year. if you decide to go with that idea you gtalk me to help you if you need help or if you want to have explain the other variants and stuff.
