Preorder opened earlier today for the figma Hatsune Miku from the voice synthesizer program Vocaloid series. She stands 140mm tall and comes with two face parts, various hands, microphone, mike stand, and two sprigs of leeks. According to her product info page, her joints are newly designed and should function better than that of older figma action figures. 2,000 of her will be available for sale at Chara Hobby 2008 on Aug. 30th and 31st and public release will be September 10th. figma Hatsune Miku will retail for 2,500 yen.

I thought the prototype photos of her from several months ago looked pretty bland, so I wasn’t too certain about getting her. She looks so much better in the new product photos and I immediately preordered one from Amazon Japan. figma Miku will be joining my figma Lelouch and Suzaku on top of my printer in the coming weeks. As of 12 hours after the preorder unsealed on AmiAmi and Amazon Japan, it appears that figma Miku is all sold out. Man, I should’ve ordered more.

I’m also extremely excited to see that CLANNAD Visual Fanbook for the TV anime was finally released on August 27th. I was worried after CLANNAD finished airing, when I looked around and never found a ‘visual fanbook’/'guide book’/'official art book’ for the series. I always buy the book for an anime if I truly enjoyed the show and/or plan to cosplay from it. In my opinion, the book is the best reference for all episodes and character designs and clothes. My fears were allayed last night when I read on Moe yo! that there indeed is a visual fanbook for CLANNAD and it does feature detailed profiles of the heroines, plus a delicious Kyou in the gym locker room poster. The CLANNAD Visual Fanbook is already sold out on Amazon Japan, so I’ve asked a friend to see if he can pick one up in a bookstore. It costs 2,500 yen.

I ordered the figma as well ;_; They need to stop making Miku merchandise, so that I can stop buying. But yeah the new product pictures made me want to buy her. I wasn’t too interested at all earlier.
