You forgot the USO DA part in the middle. :3 Definitely adds flavor to the song.
Comment by Crisu — December 20, 2007 #
The spoken lines weren’t included in the official lyrics, so I didn’t add them.
Indeed, Rena says something along the lines of, “Why did you lie? That’s a lie!”
Comment by Atashi — December 20, 2007 #
You know the part after all the USODAS, she says something like “ipuni” What does that mean?
Comment by Rose — December 20, 2007 #
I thought that part was “ii yo ne?”, not “ipuni.”
Either way, this is better than any translating I could ever do…. I wonder, Atashi, how many years’ve you been studying Japanese?
Comment by Mich — December 22, 2007 #
Thanks. Yeah, I think it’s “Ii yo ne” (It’s okay, right?), too.
I’ve been studying Japanese for seven years now, pretty much all on my own. I couldn’t find a place that offered something beyond first year Japanese.
Comment by Atashi — December 22, 2007 #
I’ve been trying *coughcough* to study it on my own for the past 2 years.
Comment by Mich — December 24, 2007 #
And I only began to make some progress over the past year or so.
Comment by Mich — December 24, 2007 #
I love how Rena flips out with all the “USO DA!!!” and the “…doushite uso, tsuku no kana…?”’s in the middle, and then says that “It’s okay, right?”
My goodness, this song is about 10x more fluffy “hauu~” then I ever imagined XD
Again, thanks for the translation, Atashi!

Thank you for the lyrics and translation! Is there a site where I can download this song?
Comment by Mei — October 14, 2008 #
You can go to esnips.com and type in “Egao-Happi-Piisu” and it should work. That’s how I got it.
Bleugh, I’m on my second year of learning Japanese. Sadly I only know about 12 Kanji, all Hiragana, and four Katakana. If you guessed that they were, “Eru” and “Kira”, you guessed correctly!

Haha it’s good to see a Death Note fan places where it has nothing to do with Death Note XD
