Because yellow omelettes are sw~eet, isn’t it great? (Isn’t it?)
My sincere patties have love worked in them

How are they? I’d like you to be delighted
I must! Go quickly to our rendezvous!

On a sunny day, my heart is cheerful and happy ♪
I want to cherish it sin-cere-ly

My eyes are blazing ♪ hear~ts ♥
I found something cute
I want the big Kenta-kun…
It’s not “trash”!
It’s treasure (isn’t it?)
I go all puffy and “Hauu~”, and nothing can stop me!

Is it weird? I l-o-v-e cute things
It’s okay, right? I’m taking them home~ (Hauu ♥); please laugh and forgive me

On cloudy days, too, my heart is excited and starts dancing ♪

What to do? I l-o-v-e cute things
I can’t? Really? (Really?) I’m taking them home~ (squish); I go all floaty and dreamy

If you had lonely nights or sad things happened
Softly tell me about them, talk to me…okay?
I want to cheer you up, because I’ll make tasty things

  1. You forgot the USO DA part in the middle. :3 Definitely adds flavor to the song.

  2. The spoken lines weren’t included in the official lyrics, so I didn’t add them.

Indeed, Rena says something along the lines of, “Why did you lie? That’s a lie!”

  3. You know the part after all the USODAS, she says something like “ipuni” What does that mean?

  4. I thought that part was “ii yo ne?”, not “ipuni.”

Either way, this is better than any translating I could ever do…. I wonder, Atashi, how many years’ve you been studying Japanese?

  5. Thanks. Yeah, I think it’s “Ii yo ne” (It’s okay, right?), too.
I’ve been studying Japanese for seven years now, pretty much all on my own. I couldn’t find a place that offered something beyond first year Japanese.

  6. I’ve been trying *coughcough* to study it on my own for the past 2 years.

  7. And I only began to make some progress over the past year or so.

  8. I love how Rena flips out with all the “USO DA!!!” and the “…doushite uso, tsuku no kana…?”’s in the middle, and then says that “It’s okay, right?”
My goodness, this song is about 10x more fluffy “hauu~” then I ever imagined XD
Again, thanks for the translation, Atashi!

  9. Thank you for the lyrics and translation! Is there a site where I can download this song?

  10. You can go to esnips.com and type in “Egao-Happi-Piisu” and it should work. That’s how I got it. :)

Bleugh, I’m on my second year of learning Japanese. Sadly I only know about 12 Kanji, all Hiragana, and four Katakana. If you guessed that they were, “Eru” and “Kira”, you guessed correctly! :D

    • Haha it’s good to see a Death Note fan places where it has nothing to do with Death Note XD
