CLANNAD Insert Song – Ana

Nope, I don’t understand the Engrish either. Side note: I hope the title of the song is indeed ‘Ana’ in English, not Japanese word ana (穴), meaning ‘pit’.

Ana
Vocals: Lia
Lyrics: Hagiwara Yu
Composition: traditional
Arrangement: Togoshi Magome

The place changes and goes. Like a wind, like clouds.
Like the traces of the heart, no halt at the places.

The place is so far away. be far apart.
people’s hand does not reach, so merely has (the) worship.

The place is a lofty lord. can’t meet nobody put on.
We will lose the place. so lofty which changes.

Not all were desired. However, we’re never sad.
still, there is still the place. far away. far away.

(The wind) blows through the place. an endless, with all.
Like the ripple float on the water. It blows as it goes.

the place is No make at all. Nothing is shown.
Like the sand clasped by hand, It falls vainly.

The place is (a) profound lord, and wear the vain faint light.
But we will find it in the place. The hut at which it stands still.

if not concerned with all, It will maintain that No dye.
therefore there is still the hut. It’s lonely, solitary.

no halt at the wind. it soars to the sky.
Like the verdure (which) meets with sunrise, It grows up as reborn.

The hut has held new one. that’s different from all.
like the sand castle of the children, but realized with the mind.

The person is a vain statue. wear taciturnity calm.
still, We will know a huge flow. It is stopped by nobody.

soon, the wind wears the snow cloud. will be dyed to snow-white.
Summer grass will incline. No sunlight, feebly shade.

The place buried in deep snow. like the collapsing castle.
like the head of the shade. figure will be thrown away.

The hut buried in deep snow. It sinks in to the flood.
and The “not dyeing” is dyed out, and waits for a oppose one.

Even if all are healed, be gonna no return.
there is still the place. far away. far away.

The place changes and goes. Like a wind, like clouds.
Like the traces of the heart, no halt at the places.

The place is a lofty lord. can’t meet nobody put on.
still, there is still the place. far away. far away.

  1. this song is is is…. my favorite thank you for the lyric

  2. XDD Beautiful song, but when I read the lyrics, I lol’d hard.

  3. Could you be so kind as to give me the lyrics in Japanese written phonetically so us non-Japanese speakers can sing it in Japanese! Many thanks!

    • I’m not sure if I can produce the romaji (assuming that’s what you’re asking for) of the lyrics because the song is in Engrish to start with. You can’t sing the song in Japanese unless you make up your own lyrics.

  4. this is a hilariously sad song…..

  5. I cried hard when I heard this being played in episode 9, but reading the lyrics, it just sounds like Babelfish XD
I think it’s better for this song when you have no idea what she’s saying =3 XD

  6. Being a person who lived in a country in which English is normally mangled like this, I actually understand Engrish well enough to understand this.

I think this song refers to heaven.

This will go well as a worship song. And almost always evoke tears when coupled with the Clannad episode it was used as well.

  7. At first, when i heard this song my tears fall down on my cheek..
But when i read the lyrics.. hmmm .. It tells about the ending of all people in this world .. and that is .death but there’s always a place for everything right? i’m satisfy :D

  8. I believe this song is saying that when you die…there is always a place far away, a place for people to go, but the only way to get to that place is through worship…worship of an almighty god…and the place that is open for you and far away, is heaven….that is what i believe…i also believe that it is depicting sadness, as in the troubles you go through life, till the point in which you die, and where as, if you do worship, and believe in the one god…you will have a home awaiting you far from the home you have known all your life…a home in heaven
